Prepare the three CSV columns before uploading
Use the exact header order asset_id,name,value. For example, AST-001,Laptop, leaves custom content empty. The asset_id is required and name is the optional visible asset name. Keep IDs formatted as text in your spreadsheet if leading zeroes matter, and quote fields that contain commas when exporting CSV.
A row’s value takes priority over the builder’s custom content field. If value is blank, the builder uses that field’s content or template when supplied, otherwise it encodes the asset ID. QR labels can use full equipment links; linear barcodes work best with short IDs and must use the selected format’s supported characters. Download the example CSV in the builder if you need a starting file.
